The Third Ontario Breeding Bird Atlas is a once in a generation opportunity to map the distribution and relative abundance of Ontario’s approximately 300 species of breeding birds. It is an ambitious five-year effort to provide data that will guide environmental policies and conservation strategies across Ontario for years to come. Ontario’s First Atlas commenced in 1981, and the Second Atlas followed in 2001. To administer the Atlas, the Ontario has been divided into 10 x 10 square kilometre squares organized into 47 regions, including Ottawa Region 24 encompassing 86 squares in part of seven counties.
Besides the memories of your time in the field and the knowledge that your efforts have contributed to the success of the Atlas, here’s your only chance to secure your very own Region 24 souvenir.
The folks at CPGear Tactical (Wheeler Accessories) – a family-owned Canadian business in New Brunswick that has been designing and producing unique field gear for over 35 years – have developed a high-quality embroidered patch of our logo that you can wear proudly or display along with your most important birding souvenirs.
The patch is available in all its original full-colour splendour, or as a “subdued” brown version that is just as striking. Both patches are offered either ready to sew on your favourite gear, or with hook and loop (a.k.a. Velcro) backing. Size: 4.25".
